I'm Lara. I make books that help children grow and learn.

Not as a publisher — as a mum who couldn't find the right book for her children, so she made one herself.

About the author

Lara Behrens writes and designs picture books for children aged 3 to 6 — alongside family and everyday life. It all began with her own children: when they were laughed at for the first time at preschool, weren't allowed to join a game, or simply couldn't understand why Mom and Dad had no time right then, Lara looked for a book that would help — and couldn't find one that truly fit. So she started writing her own stories.

The stories come from real family life: cloakroom mornings, bedtime rituals, and the best praise a book can get: "Again!" Every story shows children what they can do themselves — warmly told, with a little silliness and no wagging finger.

The books were made for her own family. And it makes Lara happy when they do other families good, too.
